Deputy Chief Nathan Hodkinson-Crook: June’s Firefighter of the Month

We are thrilled to announce that Deputy Chief Nathan Hodkinson-Crook has been named our Firefighter of the Month for June! This well-deserved recognition celebrates not just Nathan’s exceptional skills and leadership, but the incredible spirit he brings to the Gold River Fire Department every single day.

Nathan stands out as a teammate who always goes the extra mile. Whether it’s on a late night call or during training sessions, his positive attitude and unshakeable work ethic set the bar for all of us. Nathan is always ready to share his knowledge, lend a helping hand, and encourage those around him to push further and learn more. His support makes a real difference in our tight-knit team.

What makes Nathan particularly unique is his dual role as both Deputy Chief at our firehall and a dedicated Emergency Responder with BCEHS. This combination of frontline experience and leadership gives Nathan a remarkable depth of expertise, and our department is stronger because of it. He brings invaluable real-world knowledge into our training sessions, and is always happy to answer questions, mentor new volunteers, or guide us through challenging situations.

We are especially excited for September, when he will lead our First Responder course for fire department members. His passion for supporting the growth of others ensures that we’re always learning, always improving, and always ready to serve our community to the very best of our abilities.

Thank you, Nathan, for your outstanding commitment, your expertise, and for being such a fantastic teammate. And congratulations on being named Firefighter of the Month—you make Gold River proud!
