About Us

Welcome to the Gold River Fire Department!

We are proud to serve as the volunteer fire department for our beautiful rural community. United by a shared sense of purpose and dedication, our team is here 24/7 to ensure the safety, security, and wellbeing of Gold River and its residents.

The Gold River Fire Department is led by Fire Chief Lisa Illes and supported by Deputy Chiefs Kyle Collins and Nathan Hodkinson-Crook. Under their leadership, our dedicated volunteers respond to emergencies with courage, professionalism, and compassion. Our crew trains year-round, preparing for a wide range of situations—from fires and medical emergencies to search and rescue operations.

Our Mission

At the heart of our department is a simple mission: to protect life, property, and the environment in our community. As volunteers, we are members of Gold River ourselves—neighbours, friends, and family. We take pride in giving back to the place we call home, constantly striving to improve our skills and learn new techniques to better serve everyone who lives, works, or visits here.

We value preparedness, prevention, and public education. In addition to emergency response, we conduct fire safety presentations, community outreach programs, and home inspections to help keep everyone safe and informed.

Being a rural volunteer fire department presents unique challenges, but also brings our team and community closer together. We are always looking for new volunteers to join our family, whether you are interested in firefighting, administration, or helping with special events.

Thank you for your support and trust in the Gold River Fire Department. Together, we can keep our community safe, resilient, and thriving.
